Introduction
This lesson was developed as part of the 150 School District's incentive project to create a host of lessons that students are able to apply to a potential future job. In this case, students will be writing columns of a newspaper they have created as well as researching. The district has recieved funding from the "Learn to Teach, Teach to Learn" inniative. They have supplied several computers as well as paper, printers, and ink to the school to help students create a well designed newspaper.
This lesson is about the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendment. Students in the class will be split into 3 groups. Each will be assigned an amendment. They will be given a list of resources off of the Library of Congress the teacher has found. In addition to this, they will have to research further to find more in depth primary sources. They will be required to create several articles for the newspaper that provides different viewpoints on the amendment and showcases a variety of primary sources they have found and examined off of the Library of Congress website.
